Project Details / Design brief

BrisWest were engaged by a young couple to renovate and sell their 2003 era rental property. We were briefed to replace both bathrooms and undertake a makeover for the whole house and provide a modern, high-end feel to appeal to interested buyers and maximise profit.

What We Did

We removed both bathrooms entirely, retaining the main bath only. Plumbing was re-routed through the slab and wall. Both freestanding vanities were placed with wall hung CIBO vanities. This resulted in more room and the desired contemporary feel. The replaced the existing shower hobs with water-stop angles and a luxury ‘Mehtven’ double shower with large head plus an adjustable tap. A solution that not only looked great but was practical and easy to keep clean as well.

To finish we tiled the bathroom in large Alpine Charcoal granite tiles that created a sense of openness and we installed a six-bar towel rail.

The kitchen was extensively cleaned and sealed and then painted with in Dulux Lexicon gloss. The existing particle benchtop was removed and replaced with a clamshell coloured Ceasarstone bench top with an under-mount sink.

We installed new electrics including a designer pedant light, replaced existing lights with LED downlights and a low-profile timber fan was installed to give maximum height. The kitchen was then finished with 100 x 400 gloss subway tiles with grey grout to create a sense of drama and space.

The Outcome

With the changes made, the property sold in under two weeks and at a record price per metre for the suburb – an outcome the owner could only have dreamed about before the renovation. Needless to say, they were thrilled!!
