Design brief: modern / heritage

The modern / heritage design brief is due to the bathroom being in a heritage home. The owners wanted a modern bathroom makeover that nodded to the style of the house.

This bathroom renovation was a tricky one, primarily because of the small space. Yet it shows just how easy it is to update a tired, worn out bathroom. And give it a complete refreshing bathroom makeover at the same time.

The whole project was more affordable by keeping the plumbed elements (toilet , sink , shower) in their original locations.

What We Did

By replacing the bathtub with a walkthrough shower we increased the space feel in this room immediately.

The second biggest impact was the choice to feature bold tiles on the floor and a contemporary contrast and interest.

The end result is a great example of how to modernise a small bathroom on a budget.

  • Floor Tile: 200X200 Moroccan style feature tile
  • Wall Tile: 200X300 stacked white gloss with white grout.
  • Wall colour: Dulux Vivid White
